The story of Machovňa e-shop
It all started as an innocent birthday wish to have a unique moss painting in my home. When it finally appeared on the living room wall, a new idea was suddenly born: why not create your own moss piece?
The founders of Machovna live in Croatian Grob, where they started their business. Opening their first showroom was a big step for them, which helped them to gain the trust of their customers. When their first child was born, the beginnings of the business were challenging, but their determination and enthusiasm motivated them to continue. Gradually, they developed a system that allowed them to combine work and family.
Machovňa is a family project born out of a love for nature and a desire for creativity. More than three years ago, the founders decided to open an e-shop that offers stabilized mosses and plants, along with all the necessary accessories to make your own moss paintings. At that time, the Slovak market lacked a similar offer - warehouses sold only in large packages and concentrated more on companies.
They targeted home decorators who want to create their own work of art. In the e-shop, customers can buy stabilized mosses from just one piece, giving them the opportunity to choose exactly what they need. This approach allows people to save money and create unique decorations in their homes.
Expansion into new markets
When expanding into new markets, they first focused on nearby countries such as the Czech Republic and Hungary. Thanks to the cooperation with Post Without Borders (PBH) , they gained an efficient distribution method that allowed for better planning and cost visibility. They appreciate that PBH offers them a variety of shipping alternatives, and sometimes shipments arrive on site sooner than other carriers would be able to.
An interesting challenge for Machovňa was adapting the packaging to the needs of the carriers. Initially, they worked with local companies that did not impose strict restrictions, but after switching to PBH, they had to adjust their procedures. They learned how to manage orders efficiently, including using local addresses in different states, which helped them streamline logistics.
The dispensing boxes were introduced in Machovna based on customer demand. Due to their specific goods, it was difficult to accurately estimate the size of the package before packing it. Clients often found themselves in a situation where their parcel simply did not fit into the box. To avoid these misunderstandings, the founders of Machnova created a system that allows them to respond flexibly to customer requests. Now they can quickly adjust the delivery method, whether it's switching from box to address delivery, which simplifies the process and increases customer satisfaction.
Machovňa is enjoying growth and is enthusiastic about planning for the future, including expansion into new markets. They follow seasonal trends and regularly rotate their offerings to meet customer demands. Their desire to innovate and their belief that simplifying shipping is the key to success opens the door to new opportunities in online sales. The machine shop is not just a store - it' s a place where dreams and creativity are born!
